Our approach

Lower Running Costs.
Easier To Maintain.

Heat pumps, renewables and net zero design run through every project we touch. But the brief decides what gets installed, and the most efficient system is the one a building actually performs to. Robust simplicity, sized to how the building will really be used.

What We Do

From the first feasibility check to final handover, one team designs everything that heats, powers and supplies your building.

  1. 01

    Mechanical Engineering

Climate, comfort and air quality systems designed around how the building will actually be used. From heat pump strategies and ventilation through to cooling, heating and hot water, sized to perform rather than oversized to be safe.

    Electrical Engineering

Power, lighting, fire detection and data infrastructure designed to current standards and built to flex. Smart controls and energy use designed in from the brief, so the building performs as well in operation as it did at handover.

    Public Health Engineering

Water supply, drainage, sanitation and rainwater management, integrated with the rest of the building services from concept onwards. Water efficiency and rainwater reuse considered from the start, not bolted on at coordination.

Our practice

A Small Chartered Engineering Practice, Founded In 2015.

Founded in Newmarket by Jeremy Sharman and Tim Grimwade, who still read every brief that comes in. The engineer who starts your project is the one who sees it through to commissioning.

The team is small by design: chartered engineers who sit in the same office, so decisions are made in one conversation rather than passed between departments. Nothing about your project gets lost in a handover, because there are no handovers.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

A few common questions we get from clients early on. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

Ask a question
Get in touch by email or phone with roughly what you're working on. The directors read every enquiry that comes in. If it's a project we can help with, we'll set up an initial conversation to talk through brief, programme and budget. No charge for early advice.
All three services in-house: heating and cooling, power and lighting, water and drainage. Plus 3D design coordination (BIM), condition surveys, feasibility studies and sustainability ratings (BREEAM). The what-we-do page has the full list.
It depends on the project. A condition survey or feasibility study might be a few weeks. A full building services design from concept to handover usually runs alongside the architect's programme. Typically 12 to 18 months for a new build, less for refurbishments.
Yes. We're based in Newmarket and most work is across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and the surrounding counties, but we regularly work on projects further afield and have delivered internationally. Travel and on-site time are agreed up front.
Sustainability isn't a separate service line for us. Net zero strategy, heat pump feasibility and BREEAM-aligned design are part of every project where they're relevant. We're CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants, which is the formal credential for this work.

We are happy to look at briefs early, before the engineering scope is fixed. The sooner we are involved, the more value the design tends to add.
